At present, we have a very successful Standard Model (SM) unifying the electromagnetic, weak and strong interactions. In spite of its great success, it is clear that the SM is not the full story. The near future in Particle Physics will be greatly influenced by the entering in operation of the LHC in CERN, and CFTP will make all efforts to take full advantage of this extraordinary opportunity.
Research at CFTP includes many hot topics in theoretical particle physics and cosmology :
Fermion Masses & Mixing, CP Violation, Baryogenesis, Leptogenesis,
Neutrino Physics, B Physics, Supersymmetry, LFV, Extra Dimensions, Cosmology, Dark Matter & Dark Energy, Inflation, Nuclear Physics, Hadronic Matter, Chiral Symmetry, Confinement. There is also an experimental group collaborating in the heavy-ion experiment NA60 at CERN. The CFTP members have done extensive work in the fields bellow. Please see also our list of publications.
