This talk reviews the status of tetraquarks in large Nc QCD. The insight is that the existence of tetraquarks depends on which version of large Nc QCD is considered. The conventional version, with quarks in the fundamental representation do not have tetraquark resonances, while the the version with quarks in the two-index antisymmetric representation does not. The interplay of the large Nc limit and the heavy quark limit is also discussed. The latter point is of phenomenological relevance since the strongest evidence for tetraquarks is of states containing charmed quarks.
