Inflation and a running spectral index

Abstract

We describe the connection between single field inflationary models and the primordial power spectrum, discuss in particular the spectral index and its running. We consider then the observational constraints on a specific class of models (the running-mass inflationary model), which show a particular scale-dependence of the spectral index, from the WMAP first data release of the CMB anisotropy and from new clustering data from the SLOAN survey.
