Abstract
Polarization measurements at the LHC will have a central role in the solution of
long-standing physics puzzles (quarkonium production) and in the improvement
of our knowledge of fundamental interactions within the Standard Model and
beyond (decay distributions of Z, W and new resonances). Referring to some specific
examples, I will show that stronger physical indications can be obtained from the decay
angular distributions by taking into account usually neglected degrees of freedom and,
also, by using a new method based on the existence of rotation-invariant observables.
