Abstract

Several recent experimental results by ATLAS, CMS, LHCb and Belle II provide new tests of the Standard Model and probe new physics. I will focus on two of these: The branching fraction of the rare decay B_s->K0bar+K0 and CP asymmetries in B->J/psi+pi. Within the Standard Model, these observables are related to other decay rates and CP asymmetries through the approximate SU(3) flavor symmetry of the strong interactions. The measured B_s->K0bar+K0 violates three such relations at a level of about 3 sigma each. The measured A_CP(B->J/psi+pi) provide further testable predictions and help closing in on sub-percent precision in the extraction of sin(2 beta).
