The Meeting will take place at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisboa. Our Centre is in
Edificio Ciencia building 4, the entrance is through Edificio de
pos-graduacao, building 5 in the campus of IST. The

place on the 19th of July at 5.30pm in "Sala de Reunioes do Conselho
Directivo" in Pavilhao Central, building 1 in the map. On the 20th of
July the Symposium will be held in "Anfiteatro" (Amphitheatre) of
Complexo Interdisciplinar, building 3 in the map. It starts at 9
o'clock am.

From our Institute (IST) to the Restaurant the easiest
way to go is to catch a taxi. The expected cost of the taxi
is around four euros (taxis can take up to four people).
It is a lit bit too far to walk (at least 20 minutes).
There are two buses that stop at the IST entrance
of Rovisco Pais : 20 and 22 and take you
after five stops to Marques de Pombal (Duque de Loule)
which is very close to the Restaurant.
By Metro, the closest stops are: either Marques de Pombal
or Parque.
From the airport to IST campus at Alameda you can either take a taxi (and expect to pay around 7 euros) or a bus: bus 22. If you plan to catch a taxi from the airport catch one from the departures rather than from the arrivals. Taxis in Lisbon are usually honest but the arrivals at the airport attract a special breed.
For those staying at Hotel A. S. Lisboa: this hotel has a site with useful informations. Hotel A. S. Lisboa lies just outside one of the exits of the underground stop called Alameda. From the door of the hotel you see (looking uphill) the campus of IST. If you are too tired to walk up you can catch buses 16, 18, 20. The bus stop is located in front of the hotel on the other side of Avenida Almirante Reis. One stop leaves you close to the entrance Alameda. Two stops leave you close to the entrance Rovisco Pais which is the most convenient one if you come to the building where our Centre is located as well as to the Central Building (Reception) or to Complexo Interdisciplinar (talks). Several buses and also the underground (Metro) take you to our campus (IST). The best underground stop is Alameda, although the one at Saldanha is also whithin walking distance. You can find the underground map here. When you get out at Alameda our campus is not far, at the top of the hill. To ride the Metro you can buy tickets at the vending machines inside any of the stations.
Also buses 20, 22, 33, 16, 18, 40, (60) stop close to one of the gates
of the campus (Av Rovisco Pais). The campus has four gates (Alameda,
Antonio de Almeida, Alves Redol, Rovisco Pais) To ride the buses
either you buy a ticket from the driver or you bring pre-bought
tickets (for instance "Modulos" - roughly the same price as those you
buy from the driver but valid for two people or two trips instead of
just one).
